Film Commission Torino Piemonte

Accademia Epica, in collaboration with Film Commission Torino Piemonte, as part of the 9th edition of TFI Torino Film Industry, presents the first edition of "Il Ballo dei (corti) Debuttanti", a training and acceleration program for those who have a short film script and do not yet know how to produce it.

"Il Ballo dei (corti) Debuttanti" consists of a free training and mentoring program taking place in November 2026, culminating in a public pitch and matchmaking session during the 9th edition of TFI Torino Film Industry (November 26-30, 2026).

Applications are open to authors and directors under 35 who reside or are domiciled in Piedmont. Scripts can be submitted by a team or individually by the director. Four short film scripts will be selected to participate in the mentoring program (final selection results will be announced by October 31, 2026). The program will take place in Turin at the Accademia Epica headquarters (Via Bonsignore, 3) between November 2 and November 28, 2026. Targeted sessions with Accademia Epica faculty and representatives from Film Commission Torino Piemonte will focus on strengthening the script from both a creative/authorial and a production perspective.

All team members of the projects and individual directors who apply but are not selected for the development program are still offered the opportunity to participate in the matchmaking sessions. They are also guaranteed access as auditors to the final project presentation session hosted within the 9th TFI Torino Film Industry program, ensuring them the chance to join working groups and gain access to the industry through the realization of a project.

The final pitching session will be held at the Circolo dei Lettori e delle Lettrici as part of the 9th TFI Torino Film Industry on Saturday, November 28, 2026, in front of an audience composed of some of the most important national and international audiovisual players present in Turin during the market days.

Applications for selection for "Il Ballo dei (corti) Debuttanti" must be submitted from Friday, October 2 to Sunday, October 25, 2026, to segreteria@accademiaepica.it.

Participation in the call is free of charge; selected participants are required to purchase a TFI Torino Film Industry 9 badge according to the instructions provided in the call for entries.
