Volumina is a cultural association.
It was launched in the year 2000, with the aim of realizing high profile artistic and technological events, focusing on interactive exhibitions and complex editorial projects. Our underlying mission was and remains to this day to work with the great artists of our time to realize cutting edge multimedia projects involving young creative talent. Under the Supervision of Peter Greenaway, honourary president of the association, Volumina has since then created precious and exclusive book-artifacts published in a limited numbered edition, often in conjunction with a website and a specially conceived exhibition. The first art book “Tulse Luper in Turin”’ by Peter Greenaway is a veritable ‘objet d’art,’ each one a limited edition signed by the author. It recounts the story of Tulse Luper set in Liguria and Torino and includes original pictures, antique maps, photographs and 92 “Drawings of the Mole Antonelliana”. In 2004, Volumina produced “Tulse Luper in Venice”, the second art book by Peter Greenaway, presented at the Venice Film Festival in occasion of hte prèmiere of the film “The Tulse Luper Suitcases” and the exhibition of “92 Drawings of Water”. In September 2005, at the Venice Film Festival, Volumina presented the art book “Red Cars” by the Canadian film director David Cronenberg. An exhibiton of the same title is to be presented during 2007. From 2005, Volumina has managed the activities of Mediateca del Cinema Indipendente italiano and has produced the multimedia installation “Peopling the Palaces” by Peter Greenaway for the Reggia of Venaria. Currently, Volumina is working of various projects with Peter Greenaway, David Cronenberg, Atom Egoyan and Michael Nyman.
