This morning, at the headquarters of Film Commission Torino Piemonte, Piemonte Movie presented CAP — Circuito Audiovisivo Piemonte, a network involving the entire region for the distribution and promotion of films made in the area.

An innovative element of the project, under the claim "Il Cinema a km0 entra in sala" will be MOMAS — Mostra Mercato dell'Audiovisivo Subalpino, whose inaugural edition will be held this year in Alessandria.

Piemonte Movie takes a new step in its twenty-five-year journey of promoting regional cinema, presenting CAP — Circuito Audiovisivo Piemonte, a three-year project (2026–2028) that aims to create a stable cultural distribution network for the promotion and circulation of films made in the region.

With the claim "Il Cinema a km0 entra in sala", the initiative marks a significant evolution in the role of Associazione Piemonte Movie: from organiser of festivals and events, it is increasingly becoming a cultural service provider for the regional film system, bringing together the numerous activities developed and consolidated over the years — such as the Glocal Film Festival, Movie Tellers and the network of Presìdi Cinematografici Locali — while also introducing new development and promotion tools.

The project was born with the goal of strengthening the presence of Piemontese cinema in theatres, building — over the first three-year period — a circuit that will progressively involve at least 40 cinemas across the eight provinces of the region.

CAP thus becomes a new piece of Piemonte's "Cinema System", sitting alongside the production pillar coordinated by Film Commission Torino Piemonte and the cultural pillar represented by the Museo Nazionale del Cinema and its network of festivals.

Through the Circuito Audiovisivo Piemonte, local cinemas will increasingly become cultural hubs in their communities — meeting points between audiences, filmmakers and industry professionals — contributing to the circulation of independent, quality works made in the region.

CAP also aims to establish itself as a network for promoting all cultural activities linked to Piemontese cinema: through the participating venues, it will be possible to enhance the circulation of festivals, film series and projects, as well as themed exhibitions and other museum activities.

An innovative element of the project will be MOMAS — Mostra Mercato dell'Audiovisivo Subalpino, conceived as a meeting point between producers, distributors and exhibitors to encourage the circulation of films and build new cultural distribution opportunities. The inaugural 2026 edition of these "Giornate del Cinema Piemontese" will be held in Alessandria — in collaboration with the Ottobre Alessandrino — on May 26, 27, 28 and 29, before moving in subsequent years to Asti and Cuneo, following a territorial rotation principle.

Circuito Audiovisivo Piemonte is a project by Associazione Piemonte Movie in collaboration with Distretto Cinema, supported by the Regione Piemonte under the calls for the enhancement of cinema venues, and can count on a Scientific Committee composed of Film Commission Torino Piemonte (represented by Paolo Manera and Davide Bracco), the Museo Nazionale del Cinema (in the persons of Carlo Chatrian and Grazia Paganelli) and Agis-Anec Piemonte Valle d'Aosta (with Gimmi Basilotta, Arrigo Tomelleri and Marta Valsania).

Alessandro Gaido oversees General Management and regional projects, while Fulvio Paganin is entrusted with the Direction of national and international projects.

In 2026, the CAP project will unfold through a series of initiatives spread throughout the year, with the aim of bringing Piemontese cinema to theatres and communities, fostering encounters between filmmakers, industry professionals and audiences. Film series, special events and thematic programmes will come together to form a calendar combining cultural promotion, regional valorisation and support for the local production supply chain.
