Film Commission Torino Piemonte

An absolute novelty at the 8th edition of TFI Torino Film Industry is TFI Immersive – a new section launched by Film Commission Torino Piemonte and dedicated to audiovisual practices that are expanding languages and aesthetics beyond the boundaries of the cinema screen.

A section - curated by Sara Tirelli in collaboration with Federico Anselmi – that is created with the aim of analyzing the rapid evolution of immersive technologies (XR, VR, AR, MR) and digital creation tools (AI in particular) that are redesigning the way works are conceived, produced, and enjoyed, and it is part of the activities funded by the European Union in the AVENUE – ERASMUS+ project, which supports the development of European creative industries. The important partnership, which brings together Film Commission Torino Piemonte, CSC Animazione, Politecnico di Torino, Cartoon Italia and Prodea Group in support of the development of European creative industries over the next four years, was previewed during TFI Torino Film Industry 7 by danish producer Morten Thorning.

With this new program TFI Torino Film Industry aims to be a platform for observation, dialogue, and growth for those working in the audiovisual sector who want to keep pace with the transformations of a constantly evolving industry, that requires mapping tools and discussion opportunities in order to identify the most current forms of audiovisual media, bring out talent and support the development of the regional and national ecosystem within a framework that cannot fail to be of great international scope.

TFI Immersive also sets up an Immersive Lounge, of which the program presents some of the most innovative creations by national and international artists curated by Film Commission Torino Piemonte and ShorTO Film Market, as well as projects carried out by Officine Sintetiche and students from the Politecnico di Torino and from Università degli studi di Torino in collaboration with the Museo Nazionale del Cinema.
