- As part of the celebrations for its 25th anniversary of activity, Film Commission Torino Piemonte is organizing 5 Open Day events at its headquarters, to discover the behind-the-scenes world of cinema.

- Two days for high school and university students (May 8 and 22), two days for the general public (May 9 and 23), and a closing Summer Party with an Open Day spread across the city (June 13).

- More than twenty Piemontese professionals involved, to share the craft of location managing, the world of casting, costumes, set design, make-up and hairstyling.

As part of the events celebrating 25 years of activity — following the institutional event held on March 3 at the Museo Nazionale del Cinema — Film Commission Torino Piemonte is organizing a series of 5 Open Days dedicated to students, citizens, and film enthusiasts, with the aim of showcasing the behind-the-scenes world of audiovisual production.

The headquarters at Via Cagliari 42 will be opened to the public with special events and activities to tell the story of the Foundation and highlight the many professional figures in the sector, from casting to make-up, from set design to production.

Friday May 8 and Friday May 22 will be dedicated to high school and university students, while on Saturday May 9 and Saturday May 23, the general public will be able to take part in the headquarters tour. The initiative will conclude on Saturday June 13 with a "Summer Party" consisting of a day of Open Days spread across the city and other opportunities for discussion and sharing.

The Open Days will allow visitors to tour the Film Commission Torino Piemonte headquarters along a path that tells — through an exhibition and installations created for the occasion — the story of the Foundation from its establishment to the present day, covering titles, participation in major festivals, industry events, and production support funds.

More than twenty professionals and department heads — among the most active on national and international productions carried out in the region — will take part in the Open Days.

For CASTING, Elena Aime, Leucotea Monti, Sara Patti, and Luana Velliscig will be present, explaining how extras and supporting actors are selected, how auditions are conducted, and the criteria used; for COSTUMES, Cristina Audisio, Francesca Cibischino, Sara Giovene, and Silvia Nebiolo will discuss the creation and use of costumes for actors and extras, as told by the people who choose and make them; as LOCATION MANAGERS, Federico Fusco, Luca Galzignato, and Sara Montironi will explain their work — carried out in close collaboration with the directing and set design departments — in scouting the locations where films or TV series will be shot; for SET DESIGN, Elisabetta Ajani, Mario Scarzella, and Ascanio Viarigi will take part, along with set decorators Carola Benedetti and Morena Trevisiol, presenting the various stages of building environments, backdrops, and props that lead to the creation of interior sets and scenic structures; in the area of MAKE-UP AND HAIRSTYLING, make-up artists Paola Fracchia, Vanessa Ferrauto, Noemi Litrico, and Ilaria Dixyna Spadaro will be on hand, along with hair stylists Rosa Calì, Antonella Capomolla, and Giorgia Martinetti, who will give live demonstrations of the techniques used to prepare cast members, actors/actresses, and extras.

During the visit (with access every half hour from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM), participants will have the opportunity to meet film set professionals and gain a concrete understanding of the work carried out by the crew members who make up a film production team.

Specifically, the tour will take participants:

- into the Casting Room to meet a Casting Director and hear how extras and supporting actors are chosen, how auditions are run, and what selection criteria are used;

- into one of the production offices to learn about the role of the Location Manager — right where they work to prepare for shooting — collaborating closely with the directing and set design departments to scout locations for films or TV series;

- into the props and equipment area, where a set designer will walk visitors through the various stages of building environments, backdrops, and furnishings that go into creating interior sets and scenic structures;

- into the costume workshop, to explore how the costume department operates, as described by those who choose, make, and manage wardrobe for actors and extras;

- into the hair and make-up room, where professional hair and make-up stylists will be on hand to demonstrate the techniques used to prepare the cast and actors/actresses.

Alberto Marchetti renews his collaboration with FCTP, serving as a Partner for all 5 days with his products, once again showing his support for Piedmontese cinema.
