The 7th edition of TFI Torino Film Industry is in full swing and, as usual, it officially presented at the Venice International Film Festival, announcing the new Partners who will join the program, enriching the market and workshop for international co-production with content and proposals, which focuses on new talents and new trends in cinema and audiovisual.
TFI Torino Film Industry will return from 21 to 27 November 2024, in conjunction and collaboration with the 42nd edition of the Torino Film Festival and the Museo Nazionale del Cinema.
Accreditation campaign starting from Monday 9 September.
Created in 2018 with the aim of enhancing the potential of the Turin cinema system, TFI Torino Film Industry has consolidated and evolved year after year, reaching its 7th edition with a solid structure capable of providing national and international professionals with an increasingly transversal, integrated program of events capable of involving the entire audiovisual supply chain.
To support the activities of the founders of the initiative - namely Film Commission Torino Piemonte, which has coordinated the market since its inception, TorinoFilmLab and Centro Nazionale del Cortometraggio which this years proposed ShorTO Film Market - the collaboration with the Museo Nazionale del Cinema is further consolidated through Lovers Film Festival and, starting this year, with the additional prestigious presence of the Cinemambiente Festival. Also important is the reconfirmation of Fondazione Piemonte dal Vivo with onLive Campus, a partnership successfully launched last year.
The variety of proposals that the network of Piedmontese entities will program will once again be integrated and enriched by the presence of the “Partner Event” IDS Italian Doc Screenings, a flagship event of Doc/it - Associazione Documentaristi Italiani which for the 5th consecutive year has chosen to take place during TFI Torino Film Industry.
Promoted by Regione Piemonte and Città di Torino and created with the support of Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo and the Camera di Commercio di Torino - TFI Torino Film Industry will start on Thursday 21 November and will continue until Wednesday 27 November: pitching sessions, panels, workshops, one-to-one meetings which, as usual, will take place at the historic headquarters of the Circolo dei lettori in Turin.
International co-production, project development, the short film market, set professions, culture and environmental sustainability, LGBTQIA+ themed cinema, the relationship between live entertainment and new technologies, training and education of young authors are just some of the themes and insights that the 7 TFI Partners will bring to the center of the stage of this 7th edition, increasingly complex, complete and capable of meeting the needs of a vast and diversified target of professionals.
Film Commission Torino Piemonte - Production Days
Film Commission Torino Piemonte will once again propose the Production Days, a coproduction meeting designed to welcome decision makers and audiovisual professionals and, at the same time, involve beginners, students and young people who have just approached the world of cinema and its industry. Networking events, panels, workshops, pitch sessions and one-to-one meetings designed with the aim of putting Piedmontese companies and maestrane at the center of the international production ecosystem.
TorinoFilmLab – TFL Italia
On November 21, TorinoFilmLab organizes TFL Italia, which combines pitching and one-to-one sessions to create connections between national and foreign realities. The heart of the event is Boost IT Lab, a workshop for Italian projects with international coproduction potential and foreign projects looking for Italian partners (registrations until September 5) who will work with experts from November 18 to 21 until the presentation at TFI. Afterwards, producers will participate in the TFL co-production market, the Meeting Event (November 21-23, Turin), to further expand their network of contacts.
Centro Nazionale del Cortometraggio – ShorTO Film Market
ShorTO Film Market 2024 will take place in Turin on November 26 and 27 in the context of Torino Film Industry.
Previously known as TSFM - Talents and Short Film Market, it was born in 2016 on the initiative of the Centro Nazionale del Cortometraggio as a market dedicated to the short film ecosystem. ShorTO Film Market aims to encourage the growth of the international short film industry, with particular attention to the Italian sector, and to foster the growth of new authors and film professionals. The Centro Nazionale del Cortometraggio is the framework project of AIACE Nazionale. 2024 marks the beginning of a reorganization for the Centro Nazionale del Cortometraggio that will be completed in 2027, coinciding with two important anniversaries: the 65th anniversary of the foundation of AIACE and the 20th anniversary of the Center.
Lovers Film Festival – Lovers Goes Industry
Now approaching the incredible milestone of 40 candles, the Lovers Film Festival consolidates and strengthens its position as a reference festival with an LGBTQAI+ theme not only in Italy, but in the entire international film scene, as also demonstrated by all the guests involved and the projects selected during the past editions. Lovers Goes Industry wants to be an opportunity for professionals in the sector (directors, distributors, producers, festival delegates from all over the world) gathered together in Turin on the occasion of the splendid setting of the TFI - Torino Film Industry.
Festival CinemAmbiente – EcoTalks
Festival CinemAmbiente - the most important Italian event dedicated to films with an environmental theme and founding member of the Green Film Network - inaugurates its presence at the TFI Torino Film Industry with a double event. A keynote speech by an internationally renowned filmmaker will be accompanied by a moment of discussion, in collaboration with institutions and companies in the sector, dedicated to the analysis of the various social and environmental implications in the world of cinema and audiovisual: the ability to tell, document and promote environmental culture, sustainable practices and technologies within sector events, sets, production companies, animation, post-production and special effects, the role of institutions and funding calls.
Piemonte dal Vivo – onLive Campus
Created by Fondazione Piemonte dal Vivo, onLive – under the scientific direction of Simone Arcagni (IULM University) – is the first format in Italy to bring together the artistic sector, institutions, policy makers, companies and the academic world with the aim of investigating the relationship between live entertainment and new technologies. Increasingly fluid and hybrid, onLive finds its natural place within TFI Torino Film Industry. The event will feature, during this edition, the presentation of the Libro Bianco, a pioneering collective on the subject born as a natural research appendix on the sidelines of past campuses: during the meeting, the assumptions underlying the work will be described, bringing together the community of experts, scholars and operators who took part.
Doc/it - Associazione Documentaristi Italiani – IDS Italian Doc Screenings
IDS Italian Doc Screenings Academy (21-26 November 2024) is an event organized by Doc/it - Associazione Documentaristi Italiani. The ninth edition of IDS Academy, aimed at authors looking for production, will offer four days of advanced training through different moments: the Match Making, an intensive workshop for the development and pitch of projects, panels dedicated to the news and topics of greatest interest in the documentary world and networking and online events that favor the growth of projects for the Italian and international market. The DPA - Doc/it Professional Award 2024 will also be awarded within IDS, aimed at producers, which will reward documentaries and documentary series.
