An unexpected spiritual experience in a small Midwestern chapel gives Katelyn a clear vision of heaven and a firm understanding of the nature of good and evil. Having left the Catholic faith years prior, she immediately finds herself a revert and renounces nearly twenty years of work in the adult entertainment industry. However, the pursuit presents challenges as she seeks to find balance between her relationship with God and her established titles as a musician and writer in rock and roll.
Katelyn’s journey is a testament to the transformative power of faith and the quest for personal emancipation from a former life of darkness.
I have been knowing Kate, a deeply charismatic and creative person, since we were teenagers and I have been following her development ever since. Her capacity to change and find new ways of life has always astounded me. Miss American Pie is a character-driven documentary that tells her extraordinary story at a pivotal moment in her life as she breaks away from the world of adult entertainment to embrace a more spiritual life within the Catholic Church, although her ultimate goal is to express herself as a musician and writer. The title is a reference to the classic song “American Pie” by Don McLean, where one of the verses reads:
Did you write the Book of Love?
And do you have faith in God above If the Bible tells you so?
Do you believe in rock 'n' roll? Can music save your mortal soul?
