Arturo is a talented interpreter, a solitary, pragmatic and conventional person. For some time he has been having trouble carrying out his work; he has gone out of sync. Sounds are delayed according to what he sees. His affliction is degenerative: the delay keeps increasing day by day. Seconds become minutes, minutes, hours.
After losing his job and unsuccessfully trying to eliminate sound, reaching the limit, Arturo, almost by chance, begins to observe the world with a new and absurd approach.
The Delay is the story of a man who derails from the rails of time as we know it. Arturo is the victim of a tremendous bug that totally changes his life: out-of-sync.
What appears to be an absurd handicap can become an opportunity to observe reality from a new point of view. The disharmony between sound and gaze creates surprising effects, sometimes comical, sometimes disorienting. Without being able to communicate with the rest of the world anymore, Arturo has the chance to become a richer person than before.
The intent of this short film is to tell how beauty can be everywhere, even in a mistake. In the most difficult moments, creativity can come to our aid, can push us to change, to survive the chaos of our time. All it takes is knowing how to observe.
